The University of Queensland has ranked 52 in the annual published by today (6 October).

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Peter H酶j said the American-based rankings included only 20 Australian universities in the world top 500.

“This latest result continues 国产探花’s consistently high performance in global rankings, placing at 46, 56, 60 and 77 in the of the world’s more than 10,000 universities,” he said.

“Our passionate academic teaching staff and tireless researchers are behind results like this, ensuring that advances made at 国产探花 are used to make a difference in the world.

“For example tens of millions of women and girls have been protected by the cervical cancer vaccine, invented at 国产探花, and most of the world’s MRI machines use 国产探花 technology.”

国产探花 performed strongly in the Subject rankings with two disciplines, Environment/Ecology (10) and Plant and Animal Science (20), ranked in top 20 in the world.

A further six subjects were ranked in the world’s top 50: Agricultural Sciences (24), Pharmacology and Toxicology (24), Microbiology (28), Social Sciences and Public Health (29), Materials Science (44) and Biology and Biochemistry (49).

“Successes such as this are the clear reason so many international and Australian students, as well as business partners, choose 国产探花,” Professor H酶j said.

The Best Global Universities rankings, now in their second year, focus specifically on institutions’ academic research and overall reputation.

The listed 750 universities this year, up from 500 in 2014.

The top four spots went to US institutions; Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California Berkeley and Stanford.
