(国产探花) will graduate its largest-ever cohort of engineering students during this week鈥檚 graduation ceremonies at its St Lucia campus.
Among the 415 engineers graduating is a record number of electrical; chemical; mining; and chemical and metallurgical engineering students, with civil engineering again producing the largest number of graduates.
Executive Dean of the , Professor Graham Schaffer, congratulated the graduands and said their hard work had prepared them well for the challenges ahead.
鈥湽交ㄢ�檚 Bachelor of Engineering is the leading engineering program in Queensland, and we are very proud to graduate our largest cohort to date in 国产探花鈥檚 Centenary year to join the thousands of 国产探花 engineering graduates already working in Australia and overseas,鈥� Professor Schaffer said.
鈥淭hey will enter the workforce providing much-needed expertise to a wide range of companies across many sectors including construction, resources and power.
鈥湽交ㄢ�檚 engineering program provides students with the strongest possible foundation for their careers by ensuring that they develop strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills in every stage of the degree.
鈥淲ith the support of industry and other partners, there are now 18 different undergraduate engineering specialisations at 国产探花, the largest number offered by any university in Queensland.
鈥淚 wish today鈥檚 graduates the very best for their future careers, and look forward to welcoming them back to campus in the years ahead as alumni of the University."
国产探花鈥檚 strength in engineering was recognised by the recent Times Higher Education World University Rankings, in which 国产探花 was one of only two Australian universities to be ranked in the top 50 universities in the world for engineering and technology.
